On Wall M
The Model M is a flat speaker (18 cm deep, 50 cm high) specially designed for the surround channels of a home cinema system. It can be wall-mounted (fixing system supplied) or flush-mounted. We recommend it for dedicated rooms from 25 to 100 m2. It is available in a single finish (black with a dark grey front) for easy integration into dark rooms…
Technical specifications :
The speaker features a 21cm diameter bass-midrange driver and a dome tweeter topped by a horn. Its port is naturally located at the front.
Given its role as an effects loudspeaker, the Model M has been designed to be particularly dynamic. The driver uses a cellulose pulp diaphragm (very light for its diameter), mounted on a small pleated suspension to become very reactive. Output is close to 95dB. It is accompanied by a PEEK dome tweeter (a plastic stiffened by carbon particles), also very rigid, to ensure high frequencies right to the end of the audible range.
The tweeter used is the same as that used in the DHAVANI MK2 and STENTAURE floorstanding speakers, and is also the same as that used in the STENTAURE C MK2 centre speaker. In other words, the MODELE M product is the perfect companion for a home cinema installation.
Positioning and adjustment
The MODEL M should be positioned, fixed to the wall, 3/4 of the way up from the ceiling (1.8 m high for a 2.4 m ceiling). The speaker should not face the listening area, but should be perpendicular to the wall. In short, the sound from the loudspeaker should “pass over” the listener when he or she is sitting on the sofa.
In the case of a 5.1 Home Cinema system: you have the option of mounting the speakers either on the side walls (left and right) or on the rear wall. In the latter case, position the speakers further away from the main listening area. Avoid placing the surround channels too close to the corners of the room (a distance of at least 70 cm is recommended).
For a 7.1 system, we recommend using 4 speakers: 2 on the rear wall and two on the side walls.
Important: MODEL M is designed to be configured in SMALL MODE on your AUDIO/VIDEO amplifier, which means that we strongly recommend a low speaker cut-off at 80 Hz. It is with this setting that it will work and that its power handling will be assured.
The terminal block accepts fork and banana plugs, but we recommend a direct connection with the stripped cable trapped by the screwed terminal block.
Positioning and adjustment
The MODEL M should be positioned on the wall, at 3/4 of the ceiling height (1.8 m high for a 2.4 m ceiling). The speaker should not be aimed towards the listening area, but should be perpendicular to the wall. To summarize, the sound from the speaker should “pass above” the listener when seated on the couch.
In the case of a 5.1 Home Cinema system, you have the option to mount the speakers either on the side walls (left and right) or on the rear wall. In the latter case, place the speakers beyond the main listening area. Avoid placing the surround speakers too close to the room’s corners (a distance of at least 70 cm is recommended).
In the case of a 7.1 system, we recommend using 4 speakers: 2 on the rear wall and 2 on the side walls.
Important: The MODEL M is designed to be configured in SMALL MODE on your AUDIO/VIDEO amplifier. In other words, we strongly recommend setting a low cut-off for the speaker at 80 Hz. This is the setting that will ensure it functions properly and maintains its power handling.
The terminal accepts both spade and banana plugs, but we recommend a direct connection with the bare wire secured by the screwed terminal.
