At Davis Acoustics, every anniversary is an important milestone. It is an opportunity to celebrate our expertise, but also to carry forward a story that began more than 40 years ago, driven by a passion for sound and the pursuit of ever more accurate reproduction.

For the brand’s 35th anniversary, we created a model that immediately became iconic: the Olympia One Master 35. This compact loudspeaker, featuring our renowned 13 cm Kevlar driver, won listeners over with its precision, musicality and remarkable balance. Even today, it remains a benchmark for many music lovers.

Five years later, to celebrate Davis Acoustics’ 40th anniversary, it felt only natural to continue this story by creating its larger sister: the Olympia 2 Master 40.

More ambitious and more expressive, this new loudspeaker retains the DNA of the Olympia One while taking a decisive step forward. It features a 17 cm Kevlar driver, derived from our iconic 17 KLV6A and slightly optimized for this anniversary edition. Combined with a larger enclosure volume, it delivers a more expansive presentation, with greater authority in the bass and an even stronger sense of realism.

From the very first listening sessions, the Olympia 2 Master 40 impresses with its natural character. The tonal balance that has become a signature of Davis Acoustics is taken here to an exceptionally high level: no frequency dominates, and everything is reproduced with remarkable accuracy. Voices feel tangible and lifelike, instruments fall naturally into place, and the soundstage opens up with striking depth. In a living room, the illusion can be almost uncanny — as if the artists were performing right in front of you.

This result is the fruit of extensive optimization, particularly in the crossover design, aimed at achieving an exceptionally linear frequency response. This approach allows for extended, fatigue-free listening, where every detail emerges without ever becoming harsh or aggressive.

The Olympia 2 Master 40 also continues a tradition of excellence through the quality of its components. It features the latest evolution of our 28 mm soft-dome tweeter — a transducer we have continuously refined since its first appearances in some of the brand’s iconic models. Today, it achieves a level of finesse and definition worthy of this anniversary edition.
